Municipal Court

The China Grove Municipal Court handles Class C Misdemeanors. This includes traffic violations, animal control violations, misdemeanor arrests and code compliance violations which also provide services for Juveniles.

China Grove Municipal Court is a “Court of Record”. A telephone call does not constitute as a court appearance.

 

You must appear on the date and time of your citation or summons. The China Grove Municipal Court provides many options to appear before the court depending on your plea. If you do not appear, the Judge may choose to issue a warrant for your arrest, known as a Failure to Appear, which also may deny renewal of a person’s drivers license.

The China Grove Municipal Court accepts the following types of payments:

 

Cash, Money Orders, Cashier's Check, Credit and/or Debit Cards

 

Please make payable to the China Grove Municipal Court.  No personal checks will be accepted.

 

There is a 5% service fee on all credit and debit card transactions.

 

Making a payment in full of any fine through the system constitutes as an admission of guilt which could result in a conviction on your driving and/or criminal record. Any such conviction will be reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety or to the State from which your Driver’s license has been issued. If you would like to plead NOT Guilty, you must appear in court.  

 

Juveniles under the age of 17 at the time of the offense are required by law to appear in person with a parent or legal guardian before the court.

 

Other Alternatives

 

Driving Safety Course, Deferred Disposition, Compliances Dismissals, Community Service, Indigent Hearing and Payment Plans.

 

You must contact the court before or on your court date for other alternatives.

 

Driving Safety Course online only – see form for all details. Copies of Insurance (Defendant must be insured), Driver’s License, payment of $144.00 and the signed affidavit. Print out DRIVING SAFETY COURSE FORM. Requests can be denied if all documents are not turned in before or after court date. Which, then you will then need to come before the court if denied.

 

If you currently have a payment plan, Click the pay a ticket then click Criminal Search. Click the drop down for Citation to enter your Ticket Number and click pay. The Day you sign up for your payment plan is your due date every month until paid off that includes a one-time fee of $15.00 per ticket.

 

Resolving Your Warrants or Hold on your License

 

Individuals with China Grove citations or warrants can pay online to resolve them. Some may require an in-person visit if they can’t be paid online. Check our upcoming court dates. Individuals with warrants can talk to the Judge and/or Prosecutor in person to resolve them without fear of arrest.
